The Tickle College of Engineering featured the lab's work on AI teammates: AI agents built to act as genuine collaborators rather than chatbots, and the ARO-funded effort to detect and recover from compromised teammates across manufacturing, nuclear energy, disaster recovery, and healthcare.

Coverage of the lab's Army Research Office cooperative agreement on preventing and recovering from compromised AI teammates, including how human-AI teams can recognize when an AI may have been attacked.

Dr. Schelble delivered "Human-AI Teaming: The Importance of Human-AI Complementarity" at the University of Tennessee Psychology & Neuroscience Department Seminar.

"A Mixed Methods Approach to Analyzing the Role of AI Teammates in Transition Phases" appears in the Proceedings of the ACM on Human-Computer Interaction.

"Toward a Science of Human-AI Teaming for Decision-Making: A Complementarity Framework", a multi-institution collaboration including Carnegie Mellon, is out in PNAS Nexus.

Dr. Schelble presented "Performance Optimization in Human-AI Teams" to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Board on Human-Systems Integration.

Invited talk "Mitigating the Risks of Compromised AI Teammates" at the AI on the Battlefield Workshop, United States Military Academy at West Point.

Dr. Schelble delivered a Human-Machine Teaming Deep Dive for the Technical Advisory Panel on the Use of AI Systems in Warfare at West Point.

"I Know This Looks Bad, But I Can Explain" was selected as a 2023 & 2024 Featured Article for ACM Transactions on Interactive Intelligent Systems.

The Army Research Office awarded a cooperative agreement to study preventing, identifying, and mitigating compromised AI teammates using shared situation awareness and mental model accuracy.

Dr. Schelble spoke at Carnegie Mellon's AI Institute for Societal Decision Making and at the University of Texas at Austin on ethics and team cognition in human-AI teams.

Dr. Schelble joined UTK Industrial & Systems Engineering as Assistant Professor and founded the AI & Robotics for Collaborative Systems (ARCS) Lab.

Recognized as the Most Outstanding Graduate Student in Clemson University's Human-Centered Computing PhD program.

"Human-AI Teaming: Ethics, Trust, & Shared Knowledge" presented at RTX (Raytheon Technologies), East Hartford, CT.

"Exploring the Relationship Between Ethics and Trust in Human-AI Teaming" named Best Journal of Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making Article of 2022.

"Let's Think Together!" received a Best Paper Honorable Mention at the ACM International Conference on Supporting Group Work.

"Invoking Principles of Groupware to Develop and Evaluate Present and Future Human-Agent Teams" won Best Overall Paper at the 8th International Conference on Human-Agent Interaction.
